Koobface Virus Threatens Social Working SitesInternet users have been warned by the experts, against a new computer virus, Koobface, which aims to attack the social networking sites near the Christmas.
According to the UK based Sky News, among all the networking sites, Facebook is most vulnerable to the Koobface virus, which resides hidden in the Christmas card videos from the YouTube site.
The Koobface virus posts malicious links on the Facebook wall pages to invite the users to click on the Christmas card videos in which the virus is disguised. The attackers take control of the user’s computer, right from the time the video is accessed.
As soon as the video is attempted to be played, a warning message is displayed requiring the user to solve a captcha (Completely Automated Public Turing Test To Tell Computers And Humans Apart) puzzle within three minutes. In case, the user fails to do it in time, the PC hangs up.
The experts have warned that rebooting the PC won’t help to get rid of the virus, but the only way to escape the PC hang up is to solve the puzzle. If somehow the user is able to solve the puzzle, in that case also the PC will be under attacker’s control.
Panda Security, the Internet security company has recommended the users that they should not reply to or follow the links that are included in unsolicited Facebook messages. Moreover, the users should only access the URLs about which they are sure that they are authenticated and genuine.

Согласно данным UK based Sky News , среди всех сетевых участков, Facebook является самым уязвимым для вируса Koobface, который проживает в скрытой форме в видео Рождественской открытки от YouTube.
Вирус Koobface отправляет злонамеренные ссылки на стенных страницах Facebook, чтобы пригласить пользователей кликать на видео "Рождественской открытки", в которой замаскирован вирус.
