Well, my dear readers, let's start some small talk. First topic will be "My favorite book" - just tell me what it is, why and for how long?
My favorite book ever is "Lord of the rings" by J.R.R.Tolkien. I can't say clearly why, but this book just got me some 12 years ago and I feel like "WAH! my life is changing, my brain is changing and I'm not the same person I was yesterday" Strange feeling indeed, but I like it ^___^

And what would you say?

May be,that's horrable, but i don't have any book which could turn my brain/my world etc. I haven't get it yet and stiil looking for. During 6 years my "favourite" books were "PR and publishing", "Advertizing" and so on and so forth... actually - professional literature.
Definitely,i prefer Murakami (all of) and Pelevin (if i want some t.n.t. for the brain - it's enough to read "Generation "P" or "T", for exhample). I've read many books, but choose the best one fom this ammount - it's difficult for me.

:)

Autumn_story # I can understand you in some way, 'couse the favorite book of my childhood was Biology schoolbook XDDD and (as I proudly anounced being 12) fiction was not for me. but then get LOTR as birthday present and it changed so much...
as for Murakami, I have read some Ryu's books while reading EVERYTHING about Japan, but Haruki was... I don't know, think just didn't get it XD still I prefer Akutagawa Ryunosuke over all japanese writers

I like the idea of practicing English!
By the way, The Lord of the Rings is one of my favourite books, too. I really can't remember how many times I have watched the film, either...

By the way again, welcome to my diary!! I was pleased you'd found it interesting!:dance3:

Ответ на комментарий Neites # hello and thank you for your comment!
I re-watched film over 100 times though only the first one was following the book. and I was really upset, when my favorite chapter "The Scouring of the Shire" was missing T_T also they cut Tom Bombadil from the first film and put on some action scenes for Arwen, which I didn't like XDDD but second and third films was like original fanfiction to me, and can't say I didn't like it XDDD

Holly-Shittt # do I have to? I think some professors in Hogwarts graduated from other schools, like Ambrige (which is bad example, but anyway)))

Autumn_story # I strongly reccomend his novel "Kappa's land" (or water-spirit's land, I really don't know the english name for it))) and of course "Rashomon". he had a great philosophy behind all his books, also portraying Japan very detailed and interesting.

Who is your favourite personage? Strange as it may seem, mine's Sam... I think it is he who is a real hero. Frodo was supported by everyone, but it was Sam who supported him up to the very end.

Neites # It is hard for me to choose one favorite ><' I think that everyone in the fellowship do the best and reached far beyond their limits. (and even second-line characters, like Faramir, was great) also Frodo is the one who suffers the most, and the one who loses everything in the end.
but speaking of personal preferences, I should say that I liked Sam all the way))) He had really amazing personality, and when he freely gave the Ring back to Frodo after Kirit-Ungol I was fascinated XDD of course he cared for Frodo and never abandoned him... wish I have a friend like this...
also I like Gandalf and Galadriel (although JRRT didn't bring their personalities often and they exist only in my imagination)))
