ARCTIC Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is set to go on tour next year without his band.
The Sheffield maestro, 21, has been working on his yet-to-be-titled side-project with pal Miles Kane, also 21, of The Rascals and the pair want to hit the road together in 2008.
Miles said: “We’ve finished recording our album now and we’re really proud of it. It sounds really epic. There’s a Scott Walker-like orchestra on one track, which is great.
“There’s a plan for me and Alex to start gigging next year but it will probably happen late 2008 as The Rascals album is coming out first.”
Miles – whose band are supporting the Monkeys on their UK tour which kicks off on December 8 – played guitar on the track 505 from Alex and co’s last album Favourite Worst Nightmare.
He said: “I’ll probably join the Arctics on stage when they do 505. I’m really looking forward to playing to a large audience.” Can’t wait.
