Знаю, для многих очень спорно, само название Queen после смерти их фронтмена, однако я хотел бы привести цитаты людей, посетивших концерты группы в 2005-06 годах.
On my way home, I remembered the teenager I was in 1990-91, when I first really got into Queen. If you had told me at this time that I would have seen a band called "Queen" live and that I would have met them and talked to them, I wouldn't have believed you a single second. But, eh, dreams are made to come true, aren't they? (После концерта в Париже 2005 года)
I was completely happy with the show and Paul Rodgers, who did his own thing and didn't try to imitate Freddie.
Highlights for me were "I Want It All", The Days Of Our Lives" and "The Show Must Go On" live. I also loved it when Freddie "came" on stage during Bo Rap. For us it was a wonderful evening! (После концерта в Лейпциге 2005 года)
I now have a new favourite song - although not a Queen one it was amazing as an encore and haven't been able to stop singing it - It has to be 'Alright Now'!
Very effective as part of the encore set list and really got the crowd going!
I was really excited to see Queen but I was little sad because I wouldn't see Freddie. However Paul Rodgers is a good singer too, in my opinion. For me the best moments were: when everybody put their hands up on Radio Ga Ga, what an incredible sight; when they put a scene on the beginning of Bohemian Rhapsody showing Freddie playing the piano and singing; and when they played We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, The Show Must Go On and before playing Love of My Life, Brian May said that that music would be dedicated to "a guy who we will never see again, Freddie". I loved this concert and I will never forget it!
And then there's Brian May, who is absolutely one of the best guitarists in the world. For anyone like me who thought the "Wembley '86" was Brian's best performance, I can assure you - he's even better now.
I have been a Queen fan for a long time. I was extremely lucky to see them in Toronto in 1977 and a photographer friend of mine took some great pics for me (he had better seats!) Well, when I found out about Queen + Paul coming back to T.O. I just had to go and take my kids with me. I wish they could have seen Freddy perform but I have to admit Paul was incredible! Brian hasn't lost his touch and as my son plays guitar (he's 13) he now has his "guitar god". Apart from Queen in '77 that was the BEST concert I have seen in a very long time!!!
The last time I had seen Queen perform was 1982 in Toronto. Although we didn't have the pleasure of Freddie's company I knew that Brian and Roger wouldn't let me down and they didn't! They were fantastic! I was a little nervous about Paul Rodgers but what a class act he is! He didn't try and mimic Freddie and stood back several times to showcase our number one man. I admire him so much for doing that. What incrediblely tallented Brian and Roger are, I was taken back 20 years seing them there strutt their stuff. My son, yep, he had to admit it. They were and still are the best group in the world.
