Reading (UK) based band Exit Ten are shaping up to be a formidable force on the UK metal/hardcore scene. The talented group were established in 2000 as a four piece with the three Steele brothers James, Stuart and Chris and lifelong friend Joe Ward. In December 2003 the group added the soaring vocals of Buckley, Patton, Yorke inspired vocalist Ryan Redman. The band were blown away by Redman’s vocals the first time they jammed together and he totally changed the direction the band were headed in.
Over the past year E10 have developed an individual sound combining all their favorite styles and influences. The band’s metallic crunch has been compared to the likes of Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall while their melodic sound scraping and intricate riffs show similarities to Sikth and A Perfect Circle. The energy that flows from this young band’s music transfers explosively to their live shows where their growing confidence and ability has enabled them to perform stunning shows at venues and Festivals across the UK.
In April 2004 Exit Ten recorded their self titled EP with Mark Williams and BC (Sikth, Oceansize, yourcodenameis:milo) at Criterion Studios in London. The EP includes three songs written in December 03 and an at-the-time new song ‘The Absence of Forgiveness’. In Dec 04 the demo was rated 7/10 in Rocksound, and Kerrang Digital Radio played Absence declaring Exit Ten amongst the best three unsigned bands in the UK.
